Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (Suffolk)
This is a website designed by survivors for survivors.
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (Suffolk) is part of a national charity that exists to meet the needs and overcome the isolation of those bereaved by suicide. Unlike many other bereavement charities we focus entirely on suicide bereavement. Part of our service is to offer free, indefinite support to all past, present and future survivors who are 18 years and over. Arguably, our strongest brand is the fact we are user led.
SoBS would never claim survivors have the monopoly on pain during grief. However, suicide bereavement is different from all other grief and that difference hinges on the fact suicide remains the only death where a person has died by their own hand. This painful truth has the potential to haunt and torment survivors profoundly affected by suicide for many years after the event.
